Hi Brothers. Everything is going alright here at Ft. McCoy,
Wisconsin. We have been here for just over a month. There has been alot of training going on and alot of waiting around.
Some things in the Army never change. Our unit has about 120 people from Michigan. There are about 60 more people from
three states, Texas, Nebraska, and South Dakota. So far everyone seems to be getting along just fine. We have been firing
our weapons, using blanks and live ammo, about once a week. On tuesday this week, we start going on a live fire range while
doing covoy operations. When we first arrived here, the plan was to let us go home for Christmas. Things have changed. We
can go home for four days before Christmas, or the other option is 5 days off if you stay with-in 50 miles of Ft.
McCoy. I am going to stay here and my wife, Jenny, is going to come here. I don't know what Matt Shepard is going to do. He
is in the barracks next to mine. I see him at least once a day, but his squad does most of their training by themselves. When
we first got here he got an infection in his chest, but he is doing fine now. We still don't know when we are leaving here.
When my wife gets back from visiting here, feel free to call her, she should know when I'm going to be leaving for Kuwait.
I will try to email you again soon. Thank you for all of your support. P.S. Brother Leland
Brooks, your nephew James, is in the same barracks as I am. When I asked him if he was related to you, he said he was, and
to say hello for him, so Hello.
